How important is interactive video content?
First and foremost, video is a fantastic engagement tool! In fact, according to Forbes, the average user spends 88% more time on a website with video. Furthermore, 64% of consumers are more likely to buy a product after watching a video. Video content marketing, then, is clearly very powerful. This article is 3 of 4 from the series ‘Zoom in on Video Marketing’ from Professional Beauty’s August Magazine [EXTERNAL LINK, P. 87].
The most important thing is conveying human emotion.
In fact, I quite like to put clients iPhone videos into my edits occasionally, depending on the video. Why? It really brings that human emotion and authenticity that we all love in content. Connecting on a personal level with your consumer is priceless.
If you are creating a piece of content that you’re scared to post, chances are it will be a hit!
Why? Well, as humans, we tend to be scared of being vulnerable. But the audience loves the real authentic you and who you are. Keep it real, keep it raw! For example, a day in the life type video will work fantastically in the beauty market. This cuts through the noise, increases audience engagement and is why video content is so crucial, because it does what pictures simply can’t.
The first three seconds are essential for engagement.
This is the make or break on whether a potential customer continues watching or not. If you don’t have something really out there chances are your audience is not going to care.
In fact, some of the great songwriters adopt the same approach. The opening catch, whether it’s music or lyric, is used to grab attention as their form of story telling. Story telling has been an understated phrase! Whether it’s an educational training video or a profile piece, content video marketing is such a versatile medium, catering for so many communication objectives. Video and editing simply enhances your brand.
